Place them in an area protected from direct sunlight or heavy winds, and take them inside during winter weather, storing them in an unheated area until warm weather returns. Clean them as necessary using a damp cloth and apply a coat of clear polyurethane every year or so to protect them from excessive heat and humidity.

The bamboo used to make these chimes is carefully harvested and cured to properly dry the tubes, reducing the risk of cracks and prolonging the life of the chimes. Bamboo will expand and contract in reaction to surrounding weather conditions, and while hairline cracks may appear, they won't affect the sound or durability of the chime unless they become quite large.

If you receive a damaged chime, or one with large cracks, please photograph it and contact us so we can get a new one shipped out to you as quickly as possible.
